Industrial potential of Ankpojo coal of the district around Owukpa, Benue State, Nigeria

Industrial characterization of Ankpojo coal of the district around Owukpa in Benue State of Nigeria was carried out using standard field and laboratory procedures. The results reveal that the coal possesses industrial properties of medium quality which qualifies it as coking coal. Based on the total moisture content, inherent moisture content, ash content, volatile content and calorific value, it could be used as raw material in most industrial applications.
